Hi there! My name is Hero Dogs Louis Silvie Zamperini but you can call me ‘Louie’ because you are now my newest, very best friend in the world.
Just in case you were wondering, I celebrated my 5th birthday all day Sunday, June 7. I am a 70 pound, shiny, black Labrador Retriever who loves life and everyone in it.

𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐟𝐟: Hold on! I think ‘skill’ should be plural but here is just one; during school therapy visits I absolutely love to gather the students to form the longest human tunnel possible and then I run through it—at full speed! My clients love it and I accomplish my goal: to cause smiles and laughter. It’s a win-win.
𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭: As a therapy dog I love to visit a wide variety of places for example The Maryland School for the Blind, private and public schools, and American Red Cross – Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. So you can see that my clients require different therapies. What do they all have in common? Smiles!
𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐃𝐨𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐠: Adding humans to my ever-growing ‘happy list’ that I started back when I was just a few pounds.
𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠/𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐲 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐬: Well that is easy! 1. Flying and twisting through the air to catch a frisbee and then rolling simultaneously upon landing with an audible low, ‘gottchya’! 2. Swimming; dock diving, the river after a wonderfully long hike, pools (but I find that kiddy pools are boring—I need the adult pools where I can get a full work out)! 3. I enjoy singing! 4. Greeting each morning as if it was my happiest day on Earth.

𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐣𝐨𝐛 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐠: Seeing humans in pain. No worries though—remember my happy list? They always smile.
𝐀 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐤 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐬: I, Louie, prefer the word, ‘unique’! So I have enviable energy—who does not desire more? Also, I have been known to walk myself into the bathroom for a ‘time out’ on more than one occasion! Of course that causes laughter and lightens whatever misdeed that I might have performed—I am Louie after all, and I know what I am doing!
𝟑 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐦𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞 𝐦𝐞: Just 3?? Loving, sweet, smart, comical, athlete and of course, handsome!
