Daily service dog training continues for Hero Dogs, it just looks a little bit different right now.
No, we are not shopping or going to restaurants; we are not meeting new people or visiting new indoor places. But we are working on tasks and skills we can safely accomplish both outdoors and in.
We are learning about navigating different surfaces and open back metal stairs.
We are discovering odd “things” on our walks and in our neighborhood.
We are helping with laundry and picking up dropped items…
and listening intently as trainers and clients speak to us from a distance.
We are practicing “touch”, “say hello”, and “paw” with our awesome puppy raisers, and just as importantly we are spending quiet time alone in our kennels (even though our people are home).
