Hello Everyone, It is I, Louie!
I thought that I would let you know I am Home to stay, and Loving Every Moment!
You might say that my enviable energy got my coordinated body parts released from my studies as a Service Dog. Just to be clear (and to save face) I DO know my skills very well, thank you. It was my energy’s endurance that convinced me (and my instructors) that a career change was in my best interest.
My entire being had a hankering to perform my very best. Little did I know, proving an enduring energy wasn’t the thing to do as a service major.
Later in my college career I was given the opportunity to interview with the CIA. The decision was unanimous: my nose performed a top notch, superb job, and the career as a bomb sniffer looked promising for a fleeting moment. But as it turns out, after waiting a month for the results, I was not one of the four chosen dogs from three different institutions.
You might think that the month wait was nerve wracking but it was not for me. I got to hike and swim and run and play ball and sing… and commute to school! I got to live at home! Nope my nerves were just fine.
Even with several forks along my career road, my puppy raisers are proud of me.
So, what now – what profession have I chosen, you might ask?
I, Louie, am a Hero Dogs Therapy Dog, and living with My Joanie and My Billy! They adopted me! We are officially a Trio and even though I am a big boy, I can now call them mommy and daddy … it makes them feel better – I am a Therapy Dog after all. I think that this is Heaven.
I plan to keep you posted every now and then.
In the mean time know that I love you all,
Hero Dogs Therapy Dog
