This new year started with some snow days, and I love snow days. Lisa and her family got to stay home and we all got to play in the snow. And there was a lot of snow! I didn’t quite get the shoveling part, but I kept the family company as they shoveled and shoveled and shoveled. I got to climb big mounds of snow which was fun. I also went on walks around a lot of snow.
I continued to practice my skills and see my K-9 friends in class. We have been working on many skills because I will be moving on to K-9 college soon. I stayed at a couple of different puppy sitters’ homes and got some good report cards. I’m working on not barking when I see a dog. I just want to play, but I’m trying really hard with “look” and “watch.”
Waredaca, a local brewery, had a fundraiser for Hero Dogs at the brewery. I got to go along with many of my K-9 friends in training, at college, and even some working service dogs. It was exciting to be there and we got to tour the facility. I was very excited to see everyone but I eventually focused on some skill practice. It was loud and lots of people were moving around. And there was popcorn! I love popcorn but we practiced “leave it.” I got a few snacks in for good behavior.
I’ve been very good in the classroom and hallways. We’ve been getting a lot of visitors just coming to see me. They tell me they are stressed and feel better after petting me. Some even bring me a snack. Lisa makes sure I work for the snack. It’s fun and I’m happy to help others. Well, that’s all for now. See you next month!
