Many humans that know me say I have matured since my days with the “Three Musketeers” (HD Ruby and HD Chief) and I must agree. I love to work, as long as there are yummy treats involved! This pup doesn’t work for free! My great work ethic makes me a top choice for all the volunteers to take to all of the events. If Becca and Jennifer would let me, I’d go to every single one!
I know I’m Moira’s favorite and that is why she picked me and HD Robbie to go with her to the Mike Childress Golf Tournament in Ocean City, MD. After a long hard day of work on the links, HD Robbie and I were rewarded with the best gift ever…a trip to the beach! Nothing like soaking up the sun and catching some waves to end the perfect day. Good thing I’m always beach body ready!
My representation of Hero Dogs didn’t end at the golf tournament. I like to say I was hand selected to be the face of Hero Dogs during events such as the 1st Annual VeRUS for Veterans Dog Expo, Laurel American Legion Presentation, and multiple CFC events. During a CFC event at the Department of Commerce, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, my handler noticed how much of a worker bee I was – I wanted nothing to do with the dog from the rescue organization. My attention was only on the treat pouch and wanting to perform more skills, so everyone could see what a service dog can do.
Not saying that I’m the most gorgeous looking girl in the kennel, but the picture doesn’t lie! Eat your heart out boys! This beautifully sassy girl doesn’t get out of training for her future veteran though. Becca has me learning how to alert to some PTSD cues and working on not chasing small critters. I swear those small critters are mocking me!
I better get back to training and keeping all these boys in line in the kennel.
