Hi everyone. I am now a college dog! I really enjoy being in advanced training; although I do miss my puppy raisers, I have been keeping extremely busy. I don’t travel as far as I used to (like in the photo below, from earlier this spring) but there are plenty of training outings and fun experiences!
I play with all the college dogs now – at first Mae did not like me, but I have shown her that I am not all that bad, and now we play together nicely. I like to give all the dogs kisses just to show them I love them. I also like to give kisses to all of the kennel helpers that come to visit us here. They are very nice people – they come and play with us, brush us, and of course feed us. They all seem to like me a lot and they tell me that I am a handsome boy.
There is one other animal living here that is not a dog. I have never lived with one of these before – her name is Betsy and she is a cat. I make sure that she does not miss out on the “Mitch kiss” and I lick her head whenever she will let me; she does not seem to enjoy it as much as the people do.
I have also been going to class and working with the trainers regularly. My favorite class was the day we worked on agility tasks. Some of the dogs in class seemed a little worried about going over these obstacles, but I was very confident and I loved it! My favorite was the dog walk; this is a narrow platform that angles up high and then comes back down to the ground, like a bridge. I think it’s really cool that I can be tall, so I really like this. You can see me off to the left in the background of the photo below – the small platform is easy!
