July has been a tough month for me. I had to go to hospital to have some cysts removed. I had one on my head and one on my foot. The one on my foot really bothered me and medicine didn’t make it go away so Dr. Marcie said she would make it go away.
I was on light duty (that means turning on the lights and putting things away). It seems that even that was too much because my foot wasn’t getting better. So I had to be on complete bed rest (which wasn’t too bad because you know I love my bed). My partner tuned the TV to Animal Planet and I got to watch my favorite show, Meerkat Manor. There are a lot of interesting shows on that channel.
It was hard though when I started to feel better. I still wasn’t allowed to play with my friends and I missed them horribly. Ethel did all she could to help me and I appreciate her a lot more than I did before all this happened. She says that we are partners and it works both ways. I had my teeth cleaned while I was in the hospital. Ethel says I have puppy teeth again – all white and shiny. 🙂
I get teased about my head where the stitches were from the other cyst that was removed. They called me frankenweenie.
Even though I was on rest Ethel took me outside every day to lie down so I could sniff and watch the wildlife. I think I know every squirrel and bird that lives here on sight now.
The new medicine and the complete rest did the trick and my foot has made a good recovery. My stitches got taken out last week and I have been allowed to see my friends. Ethel is making me take it easy at first even though I feel tip top.
I am glad I got better in time for my birthday and the golf tournament. I got a new toy and special treats on my birthday. I also got to meet the newest member of Hero Dogs at the golf tournament. Little Amber is cute. Her brother Beau was there too. Beau is not a Hero Dog, but he is training to be a hearing dog like my friend Ms. Hope.
I have learned two important things this month. One, my partner loves me a lot, and two, high-definition TV is awesome!
Take care everyone. I hope I have more fun adventures to report next time!
