It’s official, Ethel and I are a certified team now! The party was great and I was so excited to see so many of my loved ones there. Even my Grammy Ellie was there. I was so excited to see her I acted like a little pup again but since I am a big boy there were no ‘accidents’ thank goodness.
Even though we are ‘graduated’ Ethel still makes me practice my skills every day. Well, Sundays I usually have off, but still, I kinda thought things would change once we graduated. Oh, well. I sort of like showing off all the cool things I can do and sometimes I don’t wait to be asked.
For instance, Ethel has to do these weirdo things she calls exercises on the floor. She says it’s in order to keep being able to move her head. How weird is that? Anyway, she makes distressing sounds sometimes when she does it. I felt badly for her so I brought all my toys over and piled them on top of her and then I stretched out half on her too. It worked and she started laughing. She said she loved me. Sometimes it’s the little things that make the difference.
Speaking of toys, I got a whole bunch for graduation and would like to say thanks to everyone. I love them all and I can’t ever decide which one to play with, so I take them all out and surround myself with them.
I also got the nicest new ‘place’ mat to lie on from the ladies’ quilting society. It has my name on it and I get a lot of compliments when we go places where I have to lie still for longish times. Ethel got one too but she keeps hers on her bed.
I have been very good and my x-mas stocking is already hanging up. I can hardly wait!! I saw a huge man that looked very strange and I tried to keep Ethel away from him. She laughed at me and said it was a snowman. Sure enough, on closer inspection (I tasted it) he really was! His arms were branches so I tried to taste those too but Ethel said I had to leave it. I like snow a lot. I like to eat it and roll in it and run fast and make it fly everywhere.
A lady came by and said she didn’t know that service dogs were allowed to play. Ethel laughed and said “sure they are. They work hard and play hard.” I thought it was strange that the lady thought I wasn’t allowed to play. Man, that would be horrible, wouldn’t it?
I hope you all enjoy the holidays. I intend to be extra good so my stocking gets filled to the top!
