As you may or may not know, things have changed a little for me since we last spoke. I am still living with Rheana and her family and my best mate SD Chloe, but the direction in which my work life is going is now a little different.
As you all know, I love working and playing and being with people. However, just settling and doing the “hurry up and wait” thing just doesn’t fit the dog I am. So although I now won’t be a full-fledged Service Dog, I am really, really working hard to be a fantastic Skilled Companion just like “Dominic the Golden.” I am still a Hero Dog, after all!
I am really excited about this new role, and I hope to soon find a fabulous Veteran who I can go and live with and help out whenever they need it within their home.
So March for me has been really busy, with me working hard to hone my skills in certain areas such as “take it,” “bring,” “push” (closing drawers) and learning to take socks off.
March hasn’t been all work, however; I have played with Chloe, smelt the flowers as they bloomed, and had a visit from the newest Hero Dog (Clara). Oh, yes, and I chased balls, which is one of my very, very favourite pastimes.
Spring is in the air, which I know Rheana is excited about as she hopes it will bring a little warmer weather.
Have a wonderful April, and hopefully my next blog entry will be exciting news as I start a new adventure.
