August was a very hot month for me. I don’t always like the heat but I had some fun adventures. My biggest adventure was that I got to go to a swimming party with my Hero Dogs friends. First we went to lunch and sat outside at Not Your Average Joe’s. There were five dogs in total and we tried really hard to stay settled when another dog walked by. It was sometimes difficult but I was pretty good. The puppy raisers all got to sit and have a nice lunch. Too bad nothing fell on the floor for us to sample. I know, I know. “Leave it!”
Later we went to the pool party. Although I’m not too sure about water, I did go in the pool a little bit. One of the puppy raisers was in the water, and she helped me get my legs going and pointed me to the stairs where I could get out. I really liked getting the balls from the water. I felt more comfortable standing on the side and waiting for the balls to come closer. Then I’d grab them and give them to someone to throw back in the water. I also ran and ran and ran a lot in the yard. I was exhausted by the end!
This month I also visited some stores like TJMaxx. I was very good at not sniffing anything and waiting patiently while my puppy raiser family looked at every single purse in the store. They praised me.
At the end of the month, everyone went back to school. I got to see my high school people friends and students from last year. They were surprised that I remembered them. I also met some new people and students. It was a good start to the new school year. See you in September.
