I want to show you my new life vest -don’t I look good? I grew out of the last one. I grew out of my collar too! I just keep getting bigger and bigger, but still have my athletic build. I am not wild about my new life vest, but know I am supposed to wear it when we are moving. Still it does get hot.
We had a lot of fun out on the boat, but didn’t catch any fish. I had to keep myself busy with my toys. First, I got my pink kong with treats in it. That wore me out after a while, but nothing keeps me down for long. I then got my red kong with peanut butter. OH, I love peanut butter! It makes me feel all happy inside.
I had a “procedure” in early November. I enjoyed my visit with Brookeville Animal Hospital- well, the FIRST day. I kept trying to get their attention and they just didn’t respond appropriately. Hello! look at me now now now.
The next day I wasn’t very happy to be there. I didn’t feel too good. I was sore and they kept poking me. I was happy to leave, but when I got home I was jailed for no apparent reason. I don’t know if the people at Brookeville told on me or what. I didn’t say anything bad when I was there, but they had to be reminded CONSTANTLY to pay attention to me.
I had to miss one of my doggy classes, which was a bummer. I am starting to like the classes now. Sometimes I am tired and don’t do very well. I am going to class after a full day at work, but the stuff we are doing is much more fun than just sit, down and stay!
Otto and I continue to have fun together. He is great about sharing his toys!
Thanksgiving I visited Carlyn and Jeff. They have two dogs who are my newest friends. Carlyn and Jeff “sponsor” me. I don’t know what that means, but Alison told me it was a BIG deal- because of them I will be able to help a soldier some day. That’s pretty cool. She also told me I needed to behave. I did my best.
But sometimes things did get out of hand! Boy, did I have fun.
I had hoped for a vacation, but Carlyn and Jeff ran me through my practice schedule. They kept touching my paws too. I think Alison told them I didn’t like having my paws touched and that we were working on it. Huff, sometimes that woman is just too chatty.
We went on long walks and got in a lot of face time- that’s chewing a face. Otto lets me do it and so did Chuck. Chuck is MUCH better at keep away than Otto, but then Otto is old. He’s like 8! We went to the Olney Bagel Company for breakfast- well, the people had breakfast. I had to listen to this poor guy outside whining. He just didn’t understand why I could go in and he couldn’t. I would have explained it to him, but I was told to heel and there was a treat at my nose so I thought I would go ahead and listen. After my visit, I slept for a few days. I was tired which was okay with Alison and Steve they were tired too. Something about the holidays wearing everyone out- Hey, I get it!
Otto was happy to see me. He missed me especially our training sessions. He works along side me for support. Well, he tells me its for support. I think he just wants the treats.
As you can see, I am getting to be a big dog. I have moments when I still look like my cute puppy self, but I know I am a handsome boy.
Saki and I have a lot of fun running outside. She is very fast- much faster than me. She also sees things before I do. Once she points me in the right direction I can usually figure out what she is looking at. Sometimes I am not sure what the big deal is, but I check it out anyways. Otto will come over to hang out, but he is usually too busy.
Friday I went to Walter Reed Military Hospital. I meet a new friend, Rob. He was very nice and I meet a lot of nice people. There were lots of different types of smells. It was a little overwhelming at first because of so many smells and things to watch. I met a lot of kids who gave me treats in exchange for a paw or a sit. They are pretty easy to please. I also talked to a lot of young men and women who someday might be my special someone. I showed everyone how I could pick up and bring keys. I met two other dogs who were off to see their special someones. I cant wait until I am one of them!
