As you know from my January blog, I love the snow. And February had a bunch more snow so I’m a happy boy. I played and played and played. I surely don’t know why Brent and Jamie grumble about shoveling the snow. I felt bad one day and tried to help. I’m not sure Brent agreed that my biting the shovel was much help. If only I had opposable thumbs…
Anyway, besides the snow, I got to go to all kinds of cool places. They recognized me again at Fort Meade, Home Depot, and Lowes. I know those places very well. And we stepped up the training in February. Becca made COME even harder by having us run through a bunch of really fun toys without taking any. And we practiced PAWS UP, HOLD IT, STAY, and DROP IT. I’m good at all of those except for DROP IT. Becca was having us drop things in a bucket and that scares me a little.
The biggest highlight of my February came right at the end. I have every intention of becoming a service dog and I look forward to being paired with my Veteran partner. If, for some reason, that doesn’t work out, then you know I plan to be a Navy SEAL just like my namesake. But if that doesn’t happen, I’ll just have to settle for being an astronaut.
We visited the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum and had a really great time. I met lots of people and played with several children and saw all the great planes and spaceships. While I know I look darn good in my service dog vest, you can see I look quite dashing in a space suit as well. Yep. If I have to settle for being an astronaut, that will be OK too.
Until next month… Murph On!
