This last month was really exciting for me! I got to go to a bunch of really interesting paces, meet my other brother, and take a really long trip to a place that had, get this, a HUGE lake. It was like a bajillion times the size of my water bowl. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
I think I’ve matured a lot since I first got to my mom’s house. I love my puppy raiser family and Buddy has been teaching me to be a good guard dog. I learned that I like to bark at stuff, and I have gotten a little more protective. One day, when I was walking with my mom, there was a man who was carrying a ladder and a bucket, and I just wasn’t quite sure about him. I let my mom know by walking more cautiously and keeping my eyes on him. My mom started talking to him, though, and he turned out to be totally friendly, so I quickly got back to my tail wagging old self. We walked around town and went into the bank. It was very quiet inside, so I figured it wasn’t the right place to roughhouse. I was very good.
Oh my gosh! Then we went to Petsmart. It was a puppy dog palace where there were about a hundred million cool toys and so many friendly people that my nose got tired of sniffing and my tail got tired of wagging. There were other dogs there too, and they were all nice and we had a good time sniffing around each other while our parents talked about how cute we were.
Ugh, then I had to go to the vet again. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a really nice place, and there are friendly people, and other animals to make friends with, but it is a lot of waiting around. After that, though, we went to, like, a huge parking lot full of cars except nobody was really driving them, people were just walking around and looking at them. Every once in a while they would open up a door and look inside, but mostly everyone was just walking around and talking. There was a garage there, though, about ten times the size of our garage where the cars were lifted high up off the ground and there were people standing underneath and ‘working’ on them (whatever that means). It was really noisy in that garage, but I wasn’t scared!
Then my other, oldest brother came home for a few days! He lives in California, which is like the other side of the universe, but he comes home as often as he can. He is really cool and likes to rub my ears, since, you know, they are the softest things in the whole world. We all rode down to the lake, which took a really long time, but I didn’t mind one bit. I got to catch up on some much needed cutie sleep. Buddy was in the back laying across both of my brothers, but I got the whole floor by my mom’s feet in the front seat. I walked all around the fields and got to ride in the golf cart that we have down there, which was a lot of fun. Then there was the water! It was so big! I mostly just walked around on the dock and the beach, since it was a little chilly in the water, but I can’t wait to go back and get in when it gets hot! Then everyone but Buddy and I went to dinner. I was a little worried at first since I had never been totally alone with just Buddy, but everyone came back just a little while later.
We went over to a neighbor’s house and they had the biggest car I’d ever seen! It was called a bus, and it had all kinds of little kid smells all in it, since they ride in the bus to school every day. I walked up and down the rows of seats and got to sniff all around. I also got to meet Ginger, the neighbor’s dog. She’s so small, but so loud! She didn’t seem to like me very much, but my parents said that was just her way, and that she was like that with them at first too. Then it was time to go back and we got in the truck again to go back home. We stopped to eat dinner and sat outside while people walked by.
Home again! I can’t wait to see what new adventures are coming up next month!
