Well, August has come and gone and I am apparently growing like a weed. Laura calls me her big puppy. I started August off by going to the Hero Dogs Golf Tournament where I got some Boomer loving and met the newest puppy, Robbie.
I started puppy kindergarten class for the second time, and I was so excited to see all the new puppies and people! I was in class with Robbie and another new puppy named Molly. Sadly, I had to wait for some of the puppies to get a bit bigger before they were willing to play with me. I practiced all my old skills but this time while being distracted. I was also given some new skills to work on such as touch, take, give, and place. I have been working a lot this month on relax and give, and I have gotten a lot better at give. I have also been working on sitting and waiting until a person comes to me to pet me. This is hard because I just want to give everyone some love and my famous Boomer butt wiggle.
I also went to the fair this month and walked around to see all the animals. There were cows, sheep, pigs, and goats, and they were a little strange but I didn’t bark at any of them. The pigs made weird noises I wasn’t sure about, but Louis and Laura assured me that each one was just a silly pig. The sheep even tried to poke their heads through the gates to see me but they were just silly sheep. I got to practice leave it as well, which was hard because there were so many yummy-looking things on the ground. We walked around the carnival part of the fair and there were many lights and sounds but I didn’t mind them at all.
Towards the end of the month I visited my sponsors. It was a long drive, but I was a good puppy and I always enjoy meeting new people, especially the people who are helping me become a Hero Dog! After my visit, I got to spend my first time away from home with puppy sitters Devin and Erin. I was well behaved and even got to spend some time at Hero Dogs. Thank you Devin and Erin for allowing me to spend some time with you!
Until next month,
