Hi everyone! Boy has it been a rough long winter… Luckily I stay inside so I did not have to worry about it too much! I did get a taste of it when the dogs came inside from playing; boy did they have cold noses! I do have to admit I did enjoy watching the snow fall from the sky! When I was over in the training room I would sit and watch it fall – every once and awhile I would try and catch a snow flake or two!
There also have been lots of changes in the kennel! There are two new dogs since last time I wrote, Mae and Jack. Mae has been here for a while and we are getting along just fine now. In the beginning Mae would bark at me a lot; I kept my distance for a while and would watch her from up high. I learned very quickly that the best time to check the new dogs out is when they are in their kennels! Then I come out and sit in front of the new dog’s kennel door. I think it’s kind of fun to tease them a bit – isn’t that a cat’s job?
There were also lots of little puppies around here lately. I find them very interesting because they are almost my size, but I have learned they can be even more dangerous than the big dogs because they try and play with me and have no idea how to respect a cat! I have learned to be very careful near these little dogs!
I must say, by the time Jack moved in a few weeks ago I became a pro at getting new dogs used to me! Jack is much bigger than any of the other dogs but that does not worry me… he is actually a big baby! Jack is still not used to me and likes to watch me lots! My favorite thing to do with Jack is to play in the shelving which has a bunch of big plastic totes on it – I love to hide between the totes so that Jack can’t see me, then I will randomly leap out! Jack jumps when I leap out at him and I think it’s pretty impressive that a small little cat like me can startle such a big dog!
I also dressed up for St. Patrick’s Day! I was not too sure about this whole idea of dressing up, but all the dogs did it so I figured I could be a good sport and play along. I do still have my favorite dog Gracie; I love to play with her lots! There was just recently a video on Facebook of the two of us playing – you should check it out!
