Hero Dogs “Archie” – November 2013

November 30, 2013 By blog-editor

Hero Dogs "Archie"November has been another very busy month for me. After having a great start with Morgan and Jean, I am now living with Margaret at the University of Maryland, College Park. There are five other people living in the house so I’m always getting attention and having people to play with me! Every day we go on long walks through the woods and around campus.

The campus is so big and there are so many students. There is something on campus Margaret calls the mall and it is a big grassy field where the students hang out, do homework, and play sports. My favorite part about it is all of the squirrels! We work on a lot of “leave it” there because the squirrels are everywhere, and I mean everywhere.

Hero Dogs "Archie"One day, Margaret even took me to class with her. I settled under her chair and the people around me didn’t even notice me until we got up to leave. Hopefully next semester I will be able to go to more classes with Margaret because I love to learn!

This month I visited a lot of places including Target, the grocery store, Home Depot, and the mall! My favorite outing was when we went out to dinner at Busboys and Poets. I was on my best behavior while Margaret and her friends ate dinner. I stayed settled under the table and I even got my Kongs for dinner while I was there! Everyone said I did great and people were shocked when Margaret told them I was only five months old.

Hero Dogs "Archie"I almost forgot about Thanksgiving. From what Margaret told me, Thanksgiving is all about spending time with family and friends. I went home to Margaret’s parents’ house for the Thanksgiving break. Margaret’s parents have a dog named Lincoln. We are now best buds and love to play and then snuggle together when we get tired. On Thanksgiving, I met lots of Margaret’s family, including her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. They all loved me and I can’t wait to see them again at Christmas! After thanksgiving, I went up to Deep Creek Lake with Margaret’s family. The best part about it was the SNOW! I loved rolling around and eating it. It was like a big cloud. I can’t wait until I go up again and play in the snow. It sounds like December is going to be another month full of adventures 🙂
