Hi, everyone! I’m happy to report that the school year has had a pretty smooth start, and my new Junior Trainers are really getting the hang of things. I’ve had so much fun getting to know them, and I’ve really loved all the training treats and belly rubs they’ve been passing out as they get to know me! They are a creative bunch, and have been setting up fun obstacle courses for me to do during our lunch break. One time, they had me crawl under chairs they’d set up in a row… it was a little strange at first, but they helped me complete the challenge. I found out I was pretty good at it, in fact, and now I’m cool with going through a 10-chair tunnel!
My favorite part of the day, though, is always when is I get to curl up with one of the kids and learn something new as they read to me. There’s a new reading tent set up in the school, and I was one of the first to try it out. It’s quite a cozy little spot. This year, the students even share the new classroom iPads with me – how exciting! I must admit, it’s been a bit exhausting having such full days; I try to sneak in a nap or two as often as possible.
My weekends have been packed, too. We went camping again, and I’ve been getting together with my buddies to play in the Hero Dogs field whenever I can. I liked meeting and playing with the new guys, Archie and Amber, because they have lots of energy like me. Dolley and I are really good at chasing and tackling each other, which is really fun. I’ve been perfecting my moves by watching football with Molly, Ben, and Tucker this month. I get all dressed up in my jersey and cheer for the Ohio State Buckeyes each Saturday. I’ve been told I’m good luck, because they haven’t lost since before I was born! Who knows? Maybe I am. I just like the thrill of the game, and I like earning a treat for each “touch” and “down” I do when our team scores. Awesome!
I’ve been trying on different costumes to get ready for Halloween next month. I can’t wait to show you what I wear to the parade at school! Be sure to check back at the end of October to see… Have a great month!
