I found my puppy raisers in September! My puppy raisers think that I am brilliant, handsome, adventurous, precocious, and that I was an explorer in a previous life. Life is Good. Everything is soooo new – life is just a wonderful adventure. I am a happy camper.
During my first September week with my new puppy raisers I visited ‘Doc’ because I was coughing a bit, and couldn’t keep my cookies down. I didn’t mind because I enjoy my visits with Doc, and for some reason I always feel better after my visit. Doc is one of my girlfriends; I love Doc.
In my second September week I visited the Amish market in Pennsylvania where I got to see nifty, ingenious wooden toys for little kids. These guys are gooood! Personally I think that they should make some toys for us pups, especially since they tell me I’m teething, and wood is so much fun to chew. Funny word, ‘teething.’ I also got to sit under a table for my first dining experience. My puppy raiser said that I was a really good boy, and her sister was quite impressed with me.
After the Amish market we stopped at Walmart. I wanted to try on sunglasses but my puppy raiser said that they weren’t the correct size for me. The ladies in Optical thought that I was precious, and I got to show off all the skills I know. They loved me… I know it. I sat, laid down, waited, touched… yup, this pup did it all. They want me to visit again.
I lost my center front top and bottom baby teeth, and these really cool, white big-boy teeth took their place! Everyone says that I am growing into my feet, and that I am going to be a big boy. My puppy raisers can’t believe just how fast I am growing from one day to the next.
During my third September week I got to go to the Virginia Symphony. Yup, they loved this pup there too! I hope that they still love me when I am a big boy. I got to show off my skills to many concert goers, and I even knew the bass player. I fell asleep in the lobby with one puppy raiser while the other went into the concert hall with a little girl. During intermission they switched so that my other puppy raiser got to spend time with me.
After the concert I got to go out to dinner again, which was great practice for me because I want to go to lots of restaurants. I am hoping that one of these times there will be a meal waiting for me under the table. I wonder if my puppy raisers can arrange that for me?
On the way to dinner we passed a pool of water where people threw brown, flat, round objects that look like treats into the water… they call them pennies. I tried to jump in but I wasn’t quite big enough to get over the wall, and my puppy raisers read my mind. Funny how they do that. They go to these classes where they are taught to get into my head.
During my last week of September I went to a place where there were books everywhere. They had books and food in the same place. Boy, would I have liked to sink my new big-boy teeth into some of those pages! My puppy raiser said that I skated straight through math and level 2 reading. They think that I am a genius.
I loved September because everyone I saw just loved me, and I got to take very long walks and practice my skills. My puppy raisers can’t decide on a nickname for me… ‘Leave it Louie’ or ‘Houdini.’ All the ladies love my skills. I know what I am doing. I am Louie.
