Hello again! I’m here to update you on my recent adventures. I have to say that November was a great month, filled with all sorts of hustle and bustle as my puppy raisers prepared for the holiday season. I’ve also continued to work hard on learning new commands in puppy kindergarten. I love practicing at school with my Junior Trainers, too!
Let me tell you about my field trip to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. I got to ride on a yellow school bus with my third grade friends all the way from Baltimore to Washington, DC. When we got there, I walked through the door and saw the biggest creature I’ve ever seen, which the kids said was an elephant. Although that was my favorite part, I loved seeing all of the other exhibits, too. We were all very excited about our trip, but I remembered my museum manners and kept my paws and voice down the whole time! At lunch, we got to have a picnic on the National Mall since it was such a nice day. There were many people and dogs to meet during our picnic, and my Junior Trainers told them all about Hero Dogs and what I’m learning to do. Molly was very proud of all of us. I was so tired from all of the fun that I slept the entire bus ride home!
As we got ready for Thanksgiving at the house, I was a big help. I put all of my toys away, helped remove the sheets for the beds, dusted with my tail, and licked Tucker’s bowls perfectly clean as we prepared for family and friends to come stay with us. Once they arrive, I was in charge of entertainment (I LOVED the attention). I was also a great helper in the grocery store as Molly shopped for Thanksgiving dinner ingredients. I showed other shoppers how good I am at being calm, even around all that great smelling food. I settle patiently in the checkout line, gave the cashier a $20 bill, and I even picked out a pack of gum for Molly. She was so surprised and excited! I’m not sure why she picks the candy free checkout lanes now, though…
Right after all of our guests left, we started getting ready for Christmas. I hear it’s a pretty big deal, so I can’t wait to see what happens in December. I’ll let you know how it goes – Happy Holidays!
