Hi again! Like always, I have been keeping myself busy. I have continued to perfect my training and I am trying to slow down a bit when performing tasks. I still need to be reminded to take a break on occasion because I get so very excited! I love to work so much! I have gotten better with the timer game and I am now learning to poke the human to let them know the timer is making noise. If my future Veteran has a hearing loss, I can use this new skill and help by alerting the Veteran to important sounds in the environment. And, as everyone knows, dogs have great hearing!
Things in the kennel have been pretty good. I hear soon there will be a new dog moving in that I will have to teach the ropes. His name is Murphy and I have met him in class a few times. We also have a new cat that has moved into the kennel to see if he will be a good fit here! His name is Benny. He and Betsy are getting to know each other but he is not as nice (to dogs) as Betsy. If you try to say hello to him he will hiss and try to smack you! How rude! I am told, though, that is his job. I don’t really get it but apparently he is teaching the kennel dogs how to respect a cat. I have learned to leave him alone. If I want to kiss a cat, I can kiss Betsy.
