Wow, it’s been a little over a month since joining my puppy raisers. I am doing great, I weigh 25.8 lbs and I am getting tall and thinning out.
My days start out about 5:30 a.m. – we get busy, eat breakfast and get ready for this thing called work. We get into the car and we travel on this road my puppy raiser refers to as the BIG UGLY – aka 270… We get to Marriott where I literally work for kibbles….I am greeted by lots and lots of different people every day and all I have to do is sit and keep my butt on the floor and I get all the chin and chest rubs I want!
I am learning new words and so far the ones I like to practice perfectly are: At ease, come, down, easy, get busy, give, kennel, let’s go, mine, I know my name “Tahoe”, I know how to say hello properly, settle, sit, stay, touch, wait, off (oh I know that one well), stand, no bite (like that’s my middle name or something) and oh yeah, my puppy raisers favorite ‘OUCH’!
I have been to two parades (One at Marriott and the other in Laytonsville), I have been to a girls Lacrosse game and boy do the girls love a dude in a HERO DOG’s jacket—hubba hubba, been through the car wash, car dealership, I have been to the Hornet’s Nest Restaurant in Damascus (they love me there and everyone knows my name), Panara Bread in Gaithersburg, TJ’s Roadhouse in Libertytown (Kelsey loves me) and I eat at the Marriott café daily (love to eat outside). I have learned to walk on tiny and large rock gravel paths (so tempting to pick up all the rocks), mulch on playgrounds, carpet, wood floors, tile and spongy floor covering-and my favorite – marble – I just love to slide! I have been in and out of elevators and am learning how to climb large open stair cases. I have played on playgrounds and my all-time favorite is going down the slides (check out my video).
I have been to Urbana Park, Rte. 144 Park with my buddy Hero Dog ZEKE, and I love to walk my neighborhood which registers over 1 mile. I have visited the grocery store, several stores @ FSK Mall & at the Westview Mall, Damascus post office, been to a few doctor’s offices (not a fan of those paper clothes they ask my puppy raiser to wear), been to two large hotels (Bethesda Marriott Hotel and the Bethesda Marriott & Conference Center), attended two huge meetings of over 500 people each, gone to a few parties where we celebrated birthdays and Memorial day.
Last but not least I participated in Marriott’s Associate Appreciate Week – Spirit to Serve Our communities where I went out in the community and helped move a huge pile of rocks to landscape a flower bed/fountain and that will help with the water irrigation as well as assisted in building a wood fort for kids at Locust Grove Nature Center, Bethesda, MD.
I also attended the UNITY DAY where people from all over the world dressed in their native wear and boy did I love all those robes, hats, shiny dresses with jewels (ohhhhh so tempting), cool hair dos and the awesome sandals and shoes with tassels (I was in heaven). I am doing all the normal puppy things but I love to explore and meet new people.
Till next time-Tahoe Out!
