Hero Dogs Sponsorship Opportunities
Veteran/Dog Team Sponsor - $15,000/team

After the dog and veteran have been matched, they undergo an intensive, one-on-one training program lasting six months. The team train together under the supervision of a Hero Dogs staff trainer for at least 120 hours in a variety of public and private settings, including the veteran's home, school or workplace, community, stores, public transportation, etc. The training program is individualized to the particular veterans needs and abilities. This intensive program is in addition to the six months and hundreds of hours of private training that the dogs receive at our facility before being matched with their veteran partners. The veteran/dog team sponsorship directly supports the cost of trainer hours during the individualized six month training program.

Hero Dogs Puppy Sponsor - $3,600/puppy
When you sponsor a puppy, you make a donation that covers most of the puppy's basic supplies and routine care (not costs of training or housing at our facility), up until the time he is matched with a veteran for team training, usually at around 22 months of age.

Hero Dogs Puppy Scholarships - $1,200/puppy
During the first 16 months, while the puppy lives with a foster puppy raiser, puppies and their raisers attend weekly training classes. The puppies also go on field trips accompanied by the trainers to work on their socialization, manners, and skills in public. The puppy scholarship helps offset the training costs (trainer hours, facility use, classroom supplies) during this critical period of the puppy's learning and development.

Sponsor Hero Dogs Ambassador - $1,200/year
Meet Hero Dogs Theodore Roosevelt! "Teddy" is our Hero Dogs Ambassador. Formerly a dog in training in our program, Teddy was released from the program for medical reasons. However, Teddy's wonderful calm temperament and love of everyone make him an instant favorite at all of our events. He is very easy for any volunteer to handle and can demonstrate a wide range of skills that the dogs are trained to do. Teddy has many important jobs at Hero Dogs - attending events and giving demonstrations, socializing the new puppies, going on home visits for volunteer puppy raiser/sitter approvals, going to screening interviews with veteran applicants to the program, and assisting in the client training as the "practice dog" when the veterans come for pre-training before they are matched with their own dog. The Annual Teddy Sponsorship helps cover the costs of Teddy's weekly allergy shots, medications, routine veterinary care, food, and miscellaneous supplies for the year.
