Hero Dogs Grace Hopper, May 2012
It’s June and I am now 9 months old, but I am still a puppy!
This month, the family and I went on a trip on the beltway to the Andrews Air Force Air Show! Robin packed me water with ice cubes, I love ice cubes, and lots of tasty snacks! We got to the gate and they let us right in, all because of me! I was considered a VIP. That’s a very important person.
The guards wanted us to walk through the swinging gate with bars on it. I had never done that before. It took Robin and me two tries before I got into that tight spot. What kinda door was that! I did walk right through it on the way out, with no problems.
We got inside the hanger and everyone came up to the Hero Dogs Booth. They wanted to pet me and Robin gave people snacks to give me, I did a lot of sit stays that day! Robin told everyone about me and the Hero Dogs program, they were very impressed. Maverick , Franklin, and Auddie were there, too. We took turns sitting in front of the booth. I did get to play with Audie and Frankie a little.
We walked outside the hanger and there was a loud speaker and smoke and then a plane flew over top of me! I got so scared that I sat right in front of the funnel cake booth! I put my tail between my legs and laid down. Robin quickly walked me back into the hanger. The noises made me nervous.
Robin and I went back to the booth so I could give out more puppy kisses to the kids, and then, I needed my afternoon nap.
That’s all for now.
