This month started out rather slowly for me. Maria took me to a granite store… boring… can you imagine sniffing stone all day long? I have to admit that really was the only boring day all month. Things really improved immensely after that. I went to a real school and visited with the first grade kids. That was an awesome day because they all think I am so darn cute. And to prove it, guess who was videotaped for Fox 45 TV Baltimore? Yours truly, that’s who!
This month M&W hosted a dinner party and I went with M to the store to pick out the wine for dinner. M was very proud of me because my wagging tail didn’t disturb one single bottle of wine in the store. Their guests were pleasantly surprised at how well behaved I was, considering my tender age of 5 months. I also got kudos at Michael’s where I retrieved things off the floor while M was buying flowers. A visit to the bank brought further comments on my good behavior. And, one day, we went to a store that had lots of books. Outside the bookstore I met this thing called a Bergamasco sheepdog. I’m not sure of what it was. It looked like a huge pile of hair. I couldn’t see if it had eyes, but it smelled like a dog. I didn’t stay around to find out.
Can you believe this – I got to attend a volunteer appreciation breakfast at Friends Meeting School and received a certificate of appreciation for dedicated volunteer service!! All of this for doing something I love to do, and did I mention there was FOOD there?
I do have to fess up though that I’ve not been perfect this month. For instance, when I went to the Brookeville Vet I did get a bit too exuberant and knocked all the papers off the counter when I saw all my old friends. By the way, I now weigh in at 42.6 pounds. Then there was the time I went shopping with M at Target and kept retrieving things off the shelf. M and I don’t always agree about shopping either; I like dresses with tulle fringe, bling, and stuffed dogs (how did I know they couldn’t play when I grabbed one of the legs?) M’s a bit more moderate in her taste than I and she probably knew those dogs were stuffed because she is worldlier.
Have I told you about my very best friend Sancho? I get to play with him almost every day. He’s four months older than I am, and he’s a beautiful black lab. I have other friends, too. Yogi is 8 months old, and Maggie is 11 months old, and they are all black labs, too. You know what is one of my favorite things? I love my really early morning walk. It’s cool and I get to hear and watch birds. I love, love, love birdies! On my evening walk, I like to smell the honeysuckle and to look at the fireflies. They are shiny and twinkle!
