Orientation to the kennel and specific duties for volunteers interested in assisting with care of the adult dogs at our facility. SEE DETAILS BELOW FOR IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING CHILDREN.
This ninety minute training session is an orientation for volunteers interested in assisting in the kennel facility. Orientation will include a tour of the facility, emergency procedures, and specific duties for morning, afternoon, and evening kennel volunteers. Kennel volunteers must live within ~30 minutes of zip code 20833. NOTE: A final confirmation email with directions will be sent the Friday before orientation.
Policy on Youth Volunteers
If you are an adult and would like your child to join you while you volunteer in the kennel, s/he can do so provided:
- there is only one child per parent,
- the child is middle-school aged or older,
- the child is earning SSL hours, and
- the child is actually doing the work under the supervision of the parent.
Please DO NOT register any children for this orientation unless they meet the qualifications above and you intend to volunteer with them.
