I finished my time in the Great Puppy Swap with Honor’s family. Robin and Tom were so much fun. They even took me to a fire station so that I could see
the equipment and listen to _really_ loud noises. It was great. A bunch of my Hero Dogs friends were there too including my best friend Zeke! Then I got to come home to see Gary and Meaghan again. It was nice to be back. I know the cat Sebastian and the chickens missed me.
Gary told me about the Hero Dogs graduation on November 5th. Hero Dogs Mitch and Hero Dogs Molly got to go with their partners and help them with their lives. Hero Dogs Chester and Hero Dogs Jeremiah are helping people too and so are Hero Dogs Archie, Teddy, Scotty and Grant. I know I’m only seven months old but I can’t wait to graduate!
In the meantime, I love having play dates with my Hero Dogs friends Zeke, Nick and Ashley. I also love going to the great field after Big Dogs class and getting to run around with Honor and Stella and, well, everyone. It’s fun to be getting bigger and faster! Though I miss not being able to fit underneath the armchairs.
Meaghan’s big dog Governor was in a competition and Gary and I went to cheer him on. Governor was doing lots of jumps. I bet I could do them too because Gary says I’ve always got some extra spring in my step!
Gary took me to lots of places and I’m getting to be really good at listening and staying close. I even helped Gary get a flu shot at CVS. It’s still hard to keep my
feet on the ground when someone wants to say “hi” to me or when other dogs come by but Gary says I’m learning. I also had another super visit with Leslie and Butch while Gary drove up to Massachusetts for his mom’s birthday.
Hero Dogs Zeke and I went to the Frederick County Social Services office. It was exciting to see Zeke and hard to stay focused on meeting people instead of playing! But we both did a great job. Then, at the end of the month, lots of Hero Dogs including my best friend Nick went to the Children’s Inn at the NIH to show everyone how we learn to help people. Then they let me have play time with Nick and lots of the big dogs. I loved it!
I’m learning so lots of new things in Puppy Kindergarten 2 and in the Big Dogs class. I can’t wait to see what happens in December.
