Basketball season has come to an end. I watched my last game on Saturday and behaved great. My raisers learned that I like to get treats while watching the game, just like most sport fans. A lot of players came up and asked if they could pet me. On to spring sports!
I’m working on getting my raisers to work on their clicker timing with heel, side, stand, sit, down and stay. My raisers love playing Red-Light-Green-Light. I’m not head-over-heels yet; when I’ve got somewhere to be, I want to get there!
I have a new best buddy. His name is Drummer and we’ve been playing a ton together. We both have a lot in common. He and I love tug-of-war in the rain. We love running through the mud and wrestling. He looks a lot like me but just a little bigger, more boyish and he’s a black lab just like me. Drummer is training to be a service dog too! He will help with visually impaired people. His puppy raisers are related to my puppy raisers. His raisers are a great family that fell for me as soon as they met me!
I got my first bath after playing with Drummer in the mud, it was great. I got treats the entire time, I love this spa treatment!
The kids are finally done with their science fair projects so they will be able to spend more time with me now. Reese won a writing award from the DAR and the woman who spoke had a service dog named “Gardenia.” Gardenia stayed still the entire time while she was speaking throughout the awards. Her handler is blind and if she tells Gardenia to go left then she will. She is great with directional commands. We learned all about Gardenia’s training. I hope to help my handler like her one day!
‘Till next time…
