Mom is home from Hawaii & I am beside myself! I am smothering her with attention & circling her 💛 If you knew my mom Hero Dogs Clara you would know she is a master “circler” where she circles the people she 💕’s when excited to see them. She passed that trait on to me because I love to circle too! ... See MoreSee Less

My raiser and her family have been in Hawaii for 8 days so I had 2 different puppy sitters come stay with me and I have LOVED having them and they equally love me! They’ve given me lots of love, taken me on many walks, and let me play with the water at home. My raiser flies home late tonight from Maui so I will get to see her bright and early when they land in Denver tomorrow morning! I already know I am going to circle her like 5,000 times because when I’m happy to see her, I circle her lots 💕 ... See MoreSee Less

Instead of a morning walk today we found a (new to us) fenced in baseball field with lots of extra field space to go play 🎾 before we go run a few errands! I loved all the new smells there and sometimes had to be reminded to go back to get the ball. ... See MoreSee Less

I went to Target and the UPS store today for some training. I worked on heeling with a cart, sit stays while my raiser took a few steps away, touch, stand, and plenty of “back” to get out of aisles.
While it’s very important for my training to learn my commands and go to different places to work on them, it can be frustrating when you run in to individuals who think it’s fun to bring their pet to a store. As I was walking around, my raiser and I quickly spotted a mom, teenage daughter, and their pet dog. While to them this may seem harmless, if the dog were not dog friendly and came after me, it could greatly impact my career. I was curious about the dog but my raiser had me sit and work on “look” and then I was quickly refocused. It was very obvious they knew their dog should not be in a non-dog friendly store and the daughter tried to go behind a rack and then picked up the dog. My raiser very politely asked them if their dog was a service dog, to which they said no, and then my raiser asked in a very nice way why they had their dog in the store. Their response was “we were at the pet store”, so it was convenient for them to bring the dog in.
We kindly reminded them pet dogs do not have public access rights in stores that only allow service animals and went on our way. Usually we educate people on service dogs and the Hero Dogs program when we are out training but today was a little bit different education! ... See MoreSee Less

Becca has been teaching me the “find it” game where she puts some kibble in my @kongcompany rubber Kong and hides it while I am hidden away. If asked to find “grandma” or “grand pop” (my raisers parents), I quickly run off to go find them every time, so now we are working on finding specific items. To start it’s just my Kong and I’m working with just 1 room at a time. This will be extremely beneficial if I am placed as a service dog to find specific items or person to bring to my veteran. Clearly I am enthusiastic about this game and forgot my “go through” and my “sit”, but oh well, because I found the hidden Kong! ❤️ ... See MoreSee Less
