Another trip to the west coast. On our trip I went to a Mexican restaurant. The food was really yummy according to mom, but I would not know. When we got up to leave, I surprised the waitress, she did not know I was under the table. I hear this is one of the best compliments a service dog and their handler receive (people didn't even know there was a dog there)...I was so proud!
Well, here we go again. I went to the NIDDK Council meeting again, it was so boring so I slept thru the whole thing. The next day we got onto another airplane and flew to the West Coast to the American Urology Association meeting in San Francisco. I did not meet the President of the Association but I did sit in his Circle. Our hotel was a mile from the Convention Center but this gave mom a chance to walk me in the city. There are lots of noises but not any noisier than being at the squash courts. However, there were people sitting on the streets and they were very interesting and there was some very interesting smells. Mom was not keen in letting me “say hello” with them — oh well.
The convention center was huge and filled with escalators. It was tough to find the stairs and elevators but we persisted. Mom and I did a lot of stairs. We went to a fun restaurant that paid more attention to me than mom. The owner even came out to talk to me! Finally, “mom” got a picture of me on the airplane. Good job mom.
Once we got home, it was crazy for us with even more meetings, but these were all local. I spent 3 days at the Bolger Conference enter… everyone was really happy I came to meeting; some of the folks I had met before and other folks had only seen me on the video calls. I went to dinner with a gazillion folks and also went to the bar. I aligned myself next to the bar and “settled”. All was well. Dinner was fine and I slept under “mom’s” chair. We then went to another meeting in Linthicum, MD and stayed in a hotel. The room was huge but I was really good and slept right next to the bed, and I did not get up on any of the furniture. Then 2 days later in June, we were back at the Bolger Center for yet another meeting.
And then came June and we are back at the Bolger Center for the ReBuilding a Kidney meeting. There are bunnies at the Center, lots of bunnies!! Can we go and look for more bunnies! We went to the poster session and I as so good. And we went out to dinner with a load of people to Hunter’s Bar and Grill… hee, hee!! A restaurant just for me. Sigh, another meeting.. mom are you ever in the office! I slept thru the HUBMAP HIVE Review for two days.
